Getting Started
Starting your care with us is simple. From your first phone call to your first appointment, we guide you through every step, making sure to answer any questions, and assuring you feel at ease. At your initial visit, we’ll take the time to understand your goals, assess your needs, and create a customized treatment plan so you can progress to better movement right away.
Your initial visit will include a comprehensive assessment to determine the best course of treatment for you. This includes:
- Posture Analysis: Examining how your body is aligned while sitting and standing.
- Foot and Pelvis Alignment Check: Evaluating how your feet and pelvis contribute to movement and stability.
- TMJ(Jaw) Assessment: Checking for popping, clicking or pain in the jaw.
- Gait Analysis: Observing how you walk to identify imbalances or abnormalities.
After the evaluation your therapist will provide exercise recommendations tailored to your specific needs. These exercises will help improve mobility, strength, and function.
To ensure the most effective evaluation, please bring the following:
- Any relevant medical information, such as written reports from doctors, previous physical therapy evaluations, and test results. Do not bring CDs of imaging or reports, as we are unable to review them.
- A list of current medications and any known allergies.
Your therapist will need to assess different areas of your body, so wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing is important. Please consider the following:
- For lower body concerns (hip, knee, ankle, foot): Wear shorts or loose-fitting pants that can be rolled up.
For upper body concerns (shoulder, neck, back, arms): Wear a sports bra (for women) or a loose t-shirt.
The number of sessions required varies based on:
- Your personal goals and commitment to treatment.
- The therapist’s professional assessment.
- The type of tissue that is being treated (muscles, tendons, ligaments, or nerves).
Each session consists of 1 hour.
